<< Hanover

Our programme focuses on the many trade fairs held in Germany, and begins in Hannover. This town on the Leine river is the home of CeBIT, the largest computer and IT fair in the world. Once it used to be a meeting place for a small community of technology freaks, nowadays 6500 companies present the latest in computer technology and telecommunications.

The Hannover Trade Fair is a real magnet for visitors, too. For years this truly gigantic exhibition has topped the list of international industrial trade fairs. Since the end of the Expo 2000, things have quietened down on the site where the world exposition was held. Many of the pavilions have been dismantled, and those that remain are now used for other purposes. The best known user of the site is Mousse T., a musician, producer and entrepreneur in the charts business.

Take a look behind the scenes of the music business. Of course, Hannover itself is also worth a visit; far from the hustle and bustle of the trade fairs, its interesting history, art and culture also have a great appeal. So we have been strolling through the town and the Herrenhouser Gardens. These huge Baroque gardens are the oldest of their kind in all of Europe. Furthermore we have also been visiting Hannover zoo, one of the most beautiful in Germany.
