Right at the doors of the million-metropolis of Hamburg a veritable natural paradise is located. The vast marsh-land of the Alte Land is worth visiting especially in spring. As in May, countless fruit cultures bear endless lines of fully blossoming cherry and apple-trees. Already the travel to this colourful blooming paradise is a real event. From the Port of Hamburg, a little ferry takes us across the Elbe to Jork, where we go to see the annual highlight of spring season, the Blotenfest (Blossom Celebration). Visitors who like to experience the fruit-growing tradition of the Alte Land can sign up a course and achieve the apple diploma. If you otherwise prefer relaxed diversions, you will always be invited to have long walks through the immense fruit-fields.
