An Ghaeilge

Beannachtaí na lá Féile Pádraig!

That's Irish for "Happy Saint Patrick's Day!"
[Pronounced bah-nak-tee nah law fay-la pau-rick]

If you're planning on celebrating with friends, you'll want to toast them with a hearty "Slainte!" (The word is a toast to another's health, and it's pronounced "slawn-cha").

You'll find a lot of wisdom in the following old proverbs.:

Dá fheabhas an t-ól, 'se an tart a dheireadh.
Pronunciation: Daw ous un tole, shay un thart a dyahruh.
However pleasant the drink, it always ends in thirst.

Trí bhua an ólacháin:
maidin bhrónach,
cóta salach,
pócaí folamha.

The three results of drink:
a sorrowful morning
a dirty coat
an empty pocket.

Pronunciation:
tree oo-ah an ole ah kawn
madge-in vroe-nahk
coat-a sal-ack
pokey fol-ah-wha.

Oh well. Whatever the perils, on Saint Patrick's Day you can pledge to yourself:
"Fion inniu, uisce amarach!"
feen i-nuv, iss-kah a-maw-ruck
"Wine today, water tomorrow!"
