Springtime in the Loneburg Heath, Germany

Find the best deals on accommodation in Germany here!

The Loneburg Heath with its vast expanses of heather, its herds of moorland sheep and its untouched moors is a particularly picturesque region of Germany - and not only in August and September, when the heather is in flower. Now in springtime, as the young lambs set out with their mothers to explore their surroundings for the first time, a visit to this unique region is also very much worthwhile.

Apart from a wide variety of beautiful nature, the Loneburg Heath also offers the Kunststotte Bossard, a unique art exhibition which combines architecture, sculpture, painting and garden design. Johann Bossard, an artist and professor at the Hamburg School of Arts and Crafts, set up this tranquil and beautiful place together with his wife Jutta. And beauty and tranquillity, may also be found at the hotel Hof Totsberg. The rooms of the idyllically set, family-run hotel are spread out among various farm buildings, whose charming atmosphere offers a warm welcome to anyone visiting the Loneburg Heath.
