here is another river metropolis absolutely worth seeing Cologne with its old town close by the Rhine. In the ancient alleys with its many corners, many-sided attractions are to be spotted apart from the obligatory programme of the Kolner Dom, too many times undiscovered by tourists. Right next to the splendid Gothic cathedral, one of the most important museums of Modern Art in Europe can be passed through.

It contains the collection of the Cologne resident and chocolate producer Ludwig. No matter if you are fond of Warhol, Lichtenstein or Rauschenberg here everything famous in the international art scene is admirable. In Cologne, another chocolate-tsar has had a sweet monument built for himself. Hans Imhoff founded the Schokoladenmuseum, in which you can not only learn about the most interesting background about cocoa and chocolate but also taste some sweet delicacies.

If you like it a bit rougher, however, you should have a sip on the local beer-speciality, the famous Kolsch, in one of the numerous pubs and breweries of the old town merely produced here.
