Winteringham Fields has become one of the destination restaurants of the north. Having gained its second Michelin star in 1998 and secured the title of Restaurant of the Year 2002 in The Which Good Food guide, it is now a well-established travelling gourmets haven.
Set in the quiet village of Winteringham the Restaurant with rooms is housed in a 16th century manor house featuring ships timbers & log fires. Each room conjures up a feeling of warmth and comfort: combine this with some of the finest cooking and service in the country and you have a formula for the perfect escape.
Local produce is the mainstay of Germain Schwabs cuisine; fish daily from Grimsby, game in season from the local shoots, vegetables and herbs grown in the gardens at Winteringham Fields, and an abundance of fresh fruit throughout the year. Everything is made on the premises, breads, pasta, hand made chocolates, preserves, ice creams all are produced in the kitchens at Winteringham by the brigade of ten chefs.
Whether you dine in the main dining room or as a small party in the private dining room you are assured of fine food and wine, and should you decide to stay awhile the 10 en suite bedrooms are all individually styled with period furnishings. There are four in the main house, three in the courtyard, and three in a beautifully converted dovecote.
