Hotel on the Park stands opposite Pittville Park in what many claim to be the most complete Regency town in the country. A handsome white mansion Dating from the early 19th century, it was erected as a private residence during the period when Cheltenham stood at the height of its fashion as a spa town.
Inside the hotel, guests find a chic contemporary reflection of the period style. The food is as decorative as the surroundings, with a team of chefs preparing attractively presented, adventurous, yet unfussy dishes in the modern British idiom from a daily changing menu, supported by a list of more than 120 wines.
The 'capital of the Cotswolds', Cheltenham makes an ideal base for visiting Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle, and has itself much of historical and social interest.
