Ashdown Park Hotel

The Manor House which today forms part of the Ashdown Park Hotel was erected in 1867. Over the years it saw service as a hospital, a home for the Sisters of Notre Dame of Namur, an American university, and finally as the training centre for a bank, before its acquisition in 1993 by the present owners and conversion into a luxury hotel.

Tucked away within 187 acres of deer-frequented parkland, affording serene views over its grounds and lakes to the Ashdown Forest beyond, the location of Ashdown Park alone is almost a guarantee of a relaxing visit. This glorious setting is matched by the interior appointment of the hotel. Elegant lounges overlook the grounds, with roaring log fires during the winter months to ensure a true warmth of atmosphere. Spacious individually designed guest rooms, some with four poster beds and whirlpool baths, are equipped to meet all everyday needs. The cuisine of the award winning Anderida Restaurant is complemented by a fine cellar and the attentive service met throughout the hotel. An intriguing legacy of the house's occupancy by the Sisters is the Richard Towneley Suite, a converted chapel which houses up to 150 guests in unique style for weddings or corporate events.

Leisure facilities include golf, tennis, and swimming, while the hotel's beautician, masseuse, and hair stylist will ensure that you fully live up to the beauty of your surroundings.
