By train
Amtrak Rail, Wine and Dine Tours, 800-841-9800, provides a scenic tour in a private car through the Rockies to Grand Junction, Experience dinner and a professional production at the Cabaret Dinner Theater. Tour includes two or three nights lodging and two breakfasts, plus half-day guided tour of area wineries. Adults only with a minimum of four required, starting at $299 per person.

The Wine Train, 877-244-9790, leaving Denver’s Union Station (breakfast at the station) Friday, March 31 and Friday April 7, offers an exciting weekend escape across the Rockies to Colorado’s wine country. The first day lunch is followed by a wine seminar and wine tasting on board. After arriving in Grand Junction, you’ll have the evening free with complimentary glasses of wine at select restaurants.

Saturday, you’ll be transported in style to eight area wineries to learn about local grape growing and winemaking. That evening, you’ll have the opportunity to wine and dine at selected area restaurants.

Sunday morning starts withy a short tour of a few more wineries before boarding a luxury coach for a relaxing ride back to Denver.
