SUCCESSFUL JANUARY
Antor.org in Stockholm organized national stands during four tourist fairs in four Scandinavian capitals:
Oslo-Reiseliv, Stockholm- SHIE, Helsinki – Matka and Ferie in Copenhagen.

The stands were visited by thousands of journalists, branch representatives and individual visitors.
The interest shown by them proves that Poland is an attractive tourist destination, especially in aspects of spa and beauty, golf, city breaks and active tourism.

We would like to thank our sub exhibitors and guests for making these meetings really special.
Those, who did not manage to get acquainted with Polish offer in January will get another chance to do that during the biggest Scandinavian tourist fair TUR 2006 in Goteborg.

WINTER STILL WHITE IN POLAND!
This is the absolute last call for winter attraction lovers.
We present out suggestions for those who love winter sports and leisure in the snow and would like to enjoy them in Poland.


WIN THE RACE!
Jakuszyce, situated in the neighborhood of Szklarska Poreba is a Polish centre for cross-country skiing. 
The Piast Race is that takes place there on the first weekend of March is enumerated on Euroloppet, list of international sports events.

Get ready for wonderful Polish spring!
We present suggestions of places to see and events that cannot be missed.
The spring is a great time to explore the unknown, like “Kujawsko-Pomorskie” region, that we present this month:


THE BEST OF KUJAVIA AND POMERANIA REGION  
Situated in the very heart in Poland, on the way from Gdansk to Krakow, the region of Kujavia and Pomerania combines great natural resources with tourist attractions and excellent spa facilities. Experience the history and nature at their best following our tips:

1.      Bydgoszcz – the capital of the region, is most of all the city of music.
This is where Frederic Chopin’s International Competition winner Rafal Blechacz was educated in music!
The city offers the philharmonic hall with a great acoustics and an opera where the Bydgoszcz Opera Festival takes place.
In the area of Old Town historical monuments are grouped, with Gothic parish church with the miraculous painting of Our Lady with a Rose, and a church of Poor Clares right at the main street.

2.      Torun – a Nicolas Copernicus city. The great astronomer was born there in one of the houses in the impressive gothic old town.
Torun gothic monuments, spreading along the Vistula banks, entered UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage list.
The crooked tower, the planetarium and a special atmosphere of a small university town are waiting for you in Torun.

3.      Biskupin and Wenecja – driving from Bydgoszcz towards south-west direction you see road signs saying “Wenecja” – Venice in Polish.
No St. Mark’s square you will find there, but get ready for a ride with a narrow –gauge railway, which dates back to 19th century.
In the neighboring village of Biskupin a fortress build in 700 BC can be found.
The Iron Age settlement was constructed on the island, and the surrounding swamps managed to preserve the wooden constructions of the houses and walls.
Archeological festivals take place there in the summer.

4.      Bory Tucholskie – clean and wild, the forests stretching north of Bydgoszcz towards Gdansk provide perfect conditions for those who appreciate quiet and green environment, as well as kayaking and mushroom picking.
Selected parts of Bory Tucholskie are nature reserves with excellent educational facilities.

5.      Ciechocinek spa – one of the major Poland’s lowland spas.
The bathers enjoy the unique graduate towers, open air theatre, spa park and numerous cultural events.

6.      Chelmno – called the city on nine hills with over tow kilometers of fortified walls and on of Europe’s best examples of defensive architecture.
Numerous churches represent different architectural styles and one of them has been keeping St. Valentine’s reliquary for many centuries.
That is why inhabitants of Chelmno celebrate St. Valentine’s day in a special way.

7.      Golub-Dobrzyn – the main attraction of the place is a Teutonic castle where knight tournaments take place every July .

EASTER BEETHOVEN
10th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival will take place 1 – 15 April 2006 in Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow and Bydgoszcz.
The festival will bring over 30 concerts performed by 2000 artists in the most prestigious concert halls in Warsaw, Gdansk, Krakow and Bydgoszcz.

ROLL THE STONES IN WARSAW
The legend of rock and roll, all times favorite of generations fans of rock and roll Rolling Stones will play in Warsaw on June 18.

WINE DAYS
 A local unwritten legend says that the first vineyards appeared in Zielona Gora in the middle of twelfth century, while the first written information on the vineyards dates back to 1314.
Soon, the vineyards constituted a profitable source of income for the citizens and the city budget.
Nowadays wine days are a tradition in the picturesque area of Zielona Gora.
Numerous attractions, such as: concerts, open air games, sports competitions, flea market and procession, await you in September every year.
