Successful January for Polish Tourist Office!
Having tourist fairs finished, we must admit, that there were ones of the most successful fairs. Our stands at ‘Reiseliv 2004' in Oslo/Lillestrom, at ‘Matka 2004' in Helsinki, and at ‘Ferie 2004' in Copenhagen, were popular with trade as well as with freelance tourists. This heralds that in year 2004 quantity of tourists from Scandinavia to Poland is going to increase.During fairs you were interested mostly in... ... Kraków (Cracov), Warszawa (Warsaw), Gdańsk, Spa-hotels, golf...According to the current tourist offers of Poland – the country is able to satisfy all interested tourists, as from conferences, weekends, spa-hotels, activity tourism, golf and so on.

Note! Polish National Office together with Economical Department of Polish Embassy in Copenhagen is going to exhibit for the first time in fairs in Herning! (More info at the bottom of the Newsletter) Welcome to our stand.

Region of the month: Świętokrzyski Region.
The Świętokrzyskie Voivodship is situated in south-east part of the country and covers 3,4% of the country's area. Its population is about 1.3 million. The region is situated in the heart of Poland, where the most important communication tracks cross. It borders on six voivodships (mazowieckie, lubelskie, podkarpackie, małopolskie, śląskie, łódzkie) and it is located near the biggest Polish cities: Warszawa, Kraków, Katowice, Lublin and Łódź. Distance from the capital of the region – Kielce – to those cities is from 120 km to 180 km.

Castle in Sandomierz

Two international and three country roads which cross the Świętokrzyskie Voivodoship have good connections with the country's
highway system. Additionally the communication system is supported by railway lines and board-gauge railway which joins
Silesia and Ukraine. Airport in Masłów has been entered to the international register.

Why Świętokrzyskie Region?
The Świętokrzyskie Voivodship is a region with many interesting values. It is formed of three lands: The Świętokrzyskie Mountains, The Nida Basin and The Sandomierz Upland. The land is distinguished by rich heritage of the past: archeology, unique monuments of technology, fortified buildings, places of national memory and religion cult, buildings of all architecture styles and literary traditions.
