The siege of Malbork – 2004 Malbork is the capital city of knights in Poland . The biggest gothic castle in Europe has never been captured. For many years the place has been a tourist favorite place to visit. It is a great occasion to go to Malbork in July, when the fifth edition of the spectacle in open air is taking place. On July 24th and 25th we are coming back to medieval times. There are knights, merchants, craftsmen who are taking a part in a lot of fights in Malbork. The spectacle is very popular among tourists who come to Malbork on those days to see the beautiful mediaeval castle as well as to have a chance to buy souvenirs or take a picture with a mediaeval knight. Wroclaw cheaper for tourists Wroclaw has had his own electronic tourist card from the 5 of July. For few days tourists have had an occasion to travel through Wroclaw cheaper. Wroclaw is the first city in Poland which has such a card, which has been inspired by similar cards being used in cities of Western Europe. Tourists having the card receive discounts to galleries, hotels, swimming-pools, concerts, cinemas, restaurants as well as if they want to rent a car. Moreover with the card we receive 100% discount for traveling by city trams and busses, entry to museum, cruise through Odra River , visiting the Japanese Garden , the Zoo, and some galleries. The tourist card is an electronic one and tourists can buy it in a few places in Worclaw: • Tourist Information, Rynek 14 • Cultural Information, Rynek-Ratusz 24 • PTTK, Rynek-Ratusz 11/12 • Railway Station PKP, main hall, the case no 22 • ORBIS TRAVEL, Rynek 29 • Baltona Shop at the airport in Wroclaw The card has three versions: a one-day card (24h) for 39PLN, a three-day card for 79 PLN. If you buy a three-day card you can choose three different days during the season. Attention! This year the season lasts till 31 December 2004. ATTENTION! Please remember that apart form the electronic tourist card in Wroclaw still exist other tourist cards in bigger cities in Poland like in Gdansk, Krakow, Poznan, Szczecin, Warszawa. The cards are available in TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICES in Poland. There is also a tourist card so called POLISH CARD which is valid in whole Poland and the card is free of charge and is available in TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICES in Poland . |

New hotel in Wieliczka, 14 km from Krakow ! We have a pleasure to inform that a new hotel HOTEL GALICJA has been just open in Wieliczka. The hotel is situated 14 km from Krakow , nearby to the Salt Mine – the object that is on the UNESCO list - in Wieliczka. Summer's presentation – Mountains of Lower Silesia with a Norwegian church… Lower Silesia, the region situated in Western-South Poland, is best known thanks to the mountains (Karkonosze, Sowie Mountains) Tourists often take a trip to the region to climb and reach mountains. However let us remember about spa facilities in the region. In western part of the Klodzka Valley tourist can visit health resort in Polanica Zdroj, Duszniki Zdroj and Kudowa Zdroj. Karpacz – the heart of the Karkonosze Mountains – is a town which has a lot of tourist attractions: Sniezka – the highest top of the mountains where tourist can visit the Meteorology Exposition, a unique place so called ‘'Samotnia'', where you can admire the landscape over the small lake, Wang Church – wooden mediaeval sanctuary built in 12-century over the Vang lake in southern Norway . Between Karpacz and Sciegny there is a country town, which looks like a western town with a sheriff, a saloon, horses and cowboys.
