THREE ISLAND CROSSING
Oregon-bound pioneers crossing Idaho met their greatest obstacle at Three Island Crossing, the most-feared and dangerous river ford on the entire 2,000-mile trail. Despite the dangers of capsized wagons and drowning livestock, about half of the emigrants braved the ford. These heroics are reenacted every summer at the Three Island Crossing Festival. To plan your Festival experience see News and Events.
STRICKER STORE AND ROCK CREEK STATION
Here you'll find the region's oldest building, a log store built in 1865 to serve pioneers rolling west on the Oregon Trail.

CITY OF ROCKS
The City of Rocks intrigued pioneers who branched off the Oregon Trail heading toward Utah or California. They all found the strange formations so marvelous, they often forgot for awhile about the difficulties they faced. A great place to climb, hike, camp, or just daydream.
